After multiple weeks of proof-reading, revisions, final corrections and the very last deadline it felt just unreal to state „my work is DONE“. It’s the moment you long for the most, when — especially during the final weeks of production — your todo-lists keep growing longer and longer and you wish your days could have 30 hours or more.
But after two days of doing absolutely nothing, I was back into creative mode and I shot my editor a short email, asking her if she thought it was possible to get hold of somebody at their printing house, because I’d love to get a few snapshots of „my baby“ — straight from the press, so to speak. She said she’d try, but didn’t sound particularly confident. And I soon forgot about it.
Until an email reached me with the most incredible photos. I had been hoping for two or three snapshots, but what I found in my inbox was so much better — seeing my book coming to life, detail after detail!
THANK YOU for your support and the passion you put into your work, I. Alms & F. Jansen from ZS Verlag. And THANK YOU optimal media (the printing house) for letting me use these photos — it was an amazing feeling to see the last year’s hard work come to life! My brand new cookbook Shiok Singapur is available wherever you can buy good books. I will share more about it and some of my favorite recipes from it soon!
