Liebe Nicole, viele schöne Geschichten hast du schon gesammelt. Ich würde mich freuen noch mehr davon zu lesen. Wann immer ich Zeit und Geld finde, versuche ich meinen Erfahrungen zu stillen und von Nürnberg aus in die Welt zu ziehen. Bei meinem ersten Aufenthalt auf Sri Lanka hat mich begeistert, wie unser Koch aus dem Busch die wunderbarsten Currys mit und ohne fisch/ Fleisch gezaubert hat und gerne ausführlich erklärt hat. Fasziniert hat mich auch, dass viele pflanzen, wie z. B. Die Kalanchoe als Salat dazu gereicht wurden :-)

Hi Nicole ! Even though I fell in love a while ago with the clean layout, inspiring food photography and oh so original contents of your blog, it's my first time commenting here. Your book looks like a great read as I'm a huge fan of foreign cuisines, plus need to practice my German ! So, I leave in the Loire valley, in France. AS a youngster I've travelled quite a lot with my family and friends, and eating good and new foods has always been important to me then, but I think my best memory of food & travel is one I share with my dearest fiancÃ©. We were enjoying a sunny spring in Venice, several years ago, and I was daydreaming about having a meal at a swanky seafood restaurant. We were on a tight budget though, so we went much simpler: juicy fruits fresh from the market nearby the channel going through the town, and pizza slices from a place so small that we had to eat on the street, but of which the chef eventually liked us ! Plus, from time to time, a small glass of a refreshing prosecco taken from a street bar, drunk slowly in the warming sunlight. Worth all the pricey seafood... Hope I could pass on to you all the good feelings this memory inspires me. Also, wish you all the best with this new book, though I'm quite sure it will be a success ! Hope you'll keep on running this lovely blog.

Deine Frage nach kulinarischen Erinnerungen haben einige bereits scheinbar vergessene Erlebnisse zu Tage gefördert.
Im Mai 1996 fuhr ich in Ecuador mit einem Bus von Ibarra nach San Lorenzo. Wir blieben in mindestens einer Schlammlawinen stecken und mussten ausgeschaufelt werden. Somit erreichten wir die Buspausenstation mit Verspätung. Diese lag bereits im tropischen Tiefland und es gab Huhn und Reis. Der Reis wurde mit den Händen! aus einem Riesentopf direkt auf die Teller geschöpft. Es war der beste Reis ever! Dieser Geschmack. Sorte und/oder Klima? Das Geheimnis wird leider nie gelüftet werden;)
Das beste Fleisch habe ich im Pantanal in Brasilien gegessen und in Laos haben mich nach dem Öffnen eines Bananenblattes mindestens 50 Augen kleinster, dampfgegarter Fischen angeschaut;)
