We were half frozen and miserable when we stumbled upon a chic cafe where a charming waiter insisted we try it. Pure heaven!. This is a fabulous version of the recipe and has become a Christmas morning tradition in our house. Thanks for sharing it!

ingredients:
5-6 plums, sliced or cubed (2 inch pieces)
half a lemon
half a cup of sugar
1 tbsp butter
left over rum from raisins

put the butter in the sauce pan, let it simmer for about two minutes (or until melted) on medium heat.
once melted, add the sugar. stir quickly until butter and sugar are a thick grainy mixture. next, add the cubed or sliced plums and stir. now, squeeze a half a lemon into the mixture to add the tartness. next, add the left over rum that you used to marinate the raisins. IT WAS AMAZING!

Your recipe sounds great and I will procede to make it this very day. My fellow South Africans will have a real treat for tea this afternoon. Many thanks and I love your style of writing.
