  • Your Wordpress version: 2.3.1

Hello everyone

I updated cforms to version 6.5 and i experience, since, troubles in confirmation emails with the special french characters like é, à, è. No problem with prior version (6).

What is your URL? And do you have a CC option enabled?

One of my form is here : http://www.chezgros.com/devis-complet-en-ligne/ but i don't know if this can help you because i went back to cforms 6. Can't let the clients receive theses confirmation mails. All goes fine again with cforms 6

No CC option enabled

I can set up cforms 6.5 on another wordpress installation, if you're interested in testing this problem. Let me know if you want to explore that.

That'd be great, since those special characters work fine on the test installs I've made – thanks!

Of course, it works perfectly well on a brand-new wordpress installation. As usual … ;o)

Seems really stupid but any chance that it is related to the theme ? It's the only difference i'm aware of. Same hosting (new folder on the site webspace), same form (imported), same smtp (i chose smtp because i've had troubles with php mail and yahoo mail that could be another subject  … ;o), same e-mails for client confirmation and admin alert.

So, it's seems to be only my problem now … ;o) If i can't find the source of the trouble, i stick with cforms 6. Can't work without it now … Cruel world… ;o)

I noticed the blog at the above URL runs

charset=ISO-8859-1

have you changed this recently?

Although it technically should run fine on ISO-8859-1, UTF-8 is definitely the way to go…

What ?! I always choose utf-8 … I'm checking that.

But that does'nt explain the difference between cform 6 and 6.5. ;o)

So,  my theme french translation is in iso8859-1. I just tested that same theme on the cforms65 wordpress test. No problem either in iso8859-1 …

I think i'll make a new try one night with cforms 6.5 on my public site. Just to check … I'll give you some news as soon as it's done.

Thanks for all.
