Tracking: Textarea line breaks mess up csv export

I have found this forum post but it doesn't quite hit the spot for me so I hope I was right opening a new one here.

This is what I have found out so far:

I have a form with numerous fields and also a textarea. I use tracking to export to csv. Works like a charm…EXCEPT:

When someone enters line breaks or paragraphs, it also breaks in Excel.
I open my csv-files in Excel, divide data into columns by using comma as a divider.

It looks like this: (Bemerkung is the textarea-field). As you see, ksad fh was in the first line (sorry--testing) and then I inserted some breaks and paragraphs. It breaks to column A and then continues according to the breaks I used.

Obviously I want all the content from the textarea to be in one excel field.

It seems to me that this is a little bug and might be interesting for other people, too. Is there a way to get rid of this?

THANK you so much for this plugin and for your help!

Anja

Me again,

After the image in my first post didn't work, I made a really nice one and uploaded it to my own webspace which hopefully will do the trick.

I hope someone can clear this up! Thank you!

same issue here…

both the csv as well as xml export get all screwed up by linebreaks (at least when importing into excel)

not really urgent, but would be nice if fixed.

regards,

Bernie
