Hi,

I am using the cforms II plugin (which really is great!) for Wordpress but somehow I can't get the tell-a-friend function to work properly.

I am using the speciali 'tell-a-friend' input boxes and everything should be ok, however when sending the mail off, only the admin & the sender him/herself will receive an email. The 'friend' does not receive anything at all. I have really no clue on how to fix this.. I was hoping someone here could give me some tips on this matter.

I am using Wordpress 2.2.1, cforms 540, IE/FF. No other form plugins are being used.

What's your URL?

Can you send me a copy of the form (made with the BACKUP button on the cforms II admin page)?

i have a similar issue. current implementation. testing of this has been via ip address, but with any luck, the domain repointing will be active overnight, and you can see this working at http://www.synthaetica.com (currently this link goes to my business site, so you'll need to wait for it to produce something called Synthaetica Digitography)

my tell-a-friend form does this: it sends the admin mail just fine. but the recipient receives the user's confirmation mail, and the user doesn't receive anything. i have tested this with several accounts.

two things on this implementation: 1) one of the field names has an apostrophe in it (Friend's Email), but changing that has not made any improvement, and 2) i am not using the CC: me option. so i have an explicitly constructed auto-confirm message that i KNOW is being sent to the recipient.

  • cforms version 5.5
  • any browser
  • linux/apache
  • PHP Version : 5.1.6-pl6-gentoo
  • MYSQL Version : 4.1.20
  • wordpress 2.3
  • no other plugins touching mail

That is correct, the "auto confirmation" is being abused to act as the recipients notification. So you need to change the text in the auto confirmation setting to accomodate.

The user currently doesn't get a confirmation. You could quite easily code a BCC or wait for v5.6 (it's on the list)...
