CFORMS is awesome, but I am having a growing amount of people reporting that they are having problems submitting their form.  At first I thought it might have been related to the question field (used to eliminate spam)…however I removed that option.

This seems to be related to Mac users using Safari.  The form works perfectly otherwise.  Can someone give me a suggestion as to what might be happening?  I will post the feedback I received from the lastest person to have problems:

"I have a mac and was using safari. It gave me a message that I needed to complete all the boxes, which I had. Around the extras box, it went red as if that was the problem. I had written something and then tried to delete it after it did not work."

Are you talking about the required field option. I just upgraded and I think I'm having the same problem as you. The forum functions fine when I turned the required off but when I turn on the required option even when everything is filled out the form acts like nothing was submitted and throws up red warning "Please fill in all the required fields.". I don't think it has anything to do with a Mac. I've tested on a Dell and a Mac..

 I love cform and am very grateful for it however, I wish I would've just let this update alone. I can't seem to get everything functional the way I had it before I updateed.

I'll restate the problem to be as clear as possible and hopefully help out others. Under Form Settings in the cform main setting if you select required for a field option the form will throw up "Please fill in all the required fields" when you submit a form even when all required fields are filled out properly.

If anyone knows what's up it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using WP cache plugins?

Also, does it matter if Ajax is off/on?

This has been resolved for Ted.

He had "Use custom input field NAMES & ID's" turned on and due to his choice of field labels, the resulting IDs and Names were not W3C compliant anymore.

Solution:

  • turning off "Use custom input field NAMES & ID's"
  • or providing explicit IDs in the field label, e.g.
    look, my-odd-!-field.[id:myfield]
