for cforms, you don't need any other SMTP mail plugin, it comes with it's own. simply enable SMTP sending under "global settings" and make sure (double-check) that all settings are properly configured (may want to check with your hoster to see what the requirements may be for: authentication, encryption, FROM: email address etc.)
Hi Oliver,
I've had an issue for a while now with no plugins sending on a website I was building. I have FINALLY found this thread and fixed the issue. Thanks for this.
However, while I was looking for a fix (I tried WP Mail SMTP plugin, but it only fixed a lesser contact form plugin, not yours), I found many many people with the same issue, but no solution as yet. It would therefore be helpful to all those people if you made this issue and fix more obvious. I saw many of your replies encouraging us to "check all the settings are correct", but many of us are not so technical as to be certain what the correct settings are for our own circumstances. I had no idea the different possible methods an email might be sent, and what to change if one didn't work. I'm on Fasthosts.co.uk, and they were pretty useless when I asked them for help.
Anyway, thanks again for ending my 'pain'
Andy
