smtp emails not sending

Hi Oliver,

first of all, great plugin. A lot of work gone into this and it looks beautiful. My little problem is my host does not allow mail to be sent on the "nobody@user" account which I believe is the default account used by phpmail(). Anyway I know smtp works on my host as I have a non-wordpress site working and I have trialled various smtp plugins on my wordpress site and all emails come through as expected. However I cannot seem to get your beautiful form to send the data anywhere. The url of my site in development is http://www.capitalav.com.au/dev I'm developing in firefox 2.0.0.7 and have no other plugins activated, including no smtp plugins. I have copied and renamed class-phpmailer to class.phpmailer in the wp-includes dir. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is the last requirement for this site to be completed.

Thanks in advance,

Troy.

Hi Troy,

Maybe there was a misunderstanding, cforms does expect 'class-phpmailer.php' as well as 'class-smtp.php' in the wp-include dir. This should work with WP 2.3 out of the box (pre WP2.3 you had to rename class-smtp.php to class.smtp.php).

Try that. Also, note that if your SMTP host requires strong authentication/encryption, this may not work for you based on the limitations that class-phpmailer.php comes with.

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the quick response. It seems my host requires me to use the Mail.php in PEAR to send mail by smtp. I have tested this and it works but I can't seem to get it to work within my wordpress structure. Anyway was wondering if it's possible to have your plugin reference the Mail.php file in PEAR?

Cheers,

Troy
