Ive jsut tried to restore a backup of my cforms and when i goto cforms i get the following error :

It appears that WP has corrupted your cforms settings, the settings array can not be read properly.

The Corrupted cforms settings array (raw code) and the only way  ican get cforms to work is by resetting.

is there another way to restore the all-cforms-settings.txt to prevent it corrupting?

actually ignore that last post that only appears after resetting ..

from a fresh install of cforms 10.1 and doing a backup of the default form then restoring i get the same problem.

from hitting restore i get the $abspath  warning dialog box (even though the file is there containing <?php $abspath = '/var/www/html/'; ?> which is correct for my server)

then i get a hard error on all cforms pages

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/cforms/cforms-options.php on line 10

i then have to disable the plugin, re enable then reset then disable then reenable again

ive set my cforms folder to 755 permission wise is there anything else im missing?

It seems that you backup file is corrupt.

What happens when you start with a clean setup (RESET), restore your old settings and when cforms complains about corruption, try to use the FIX button?

I am having a similar issue. I tried to restore my cforms using this method from your FAQs:

How do I migrate/move cforms to a new site?

  • Backup your cforms settings (under Global-Settings Tab/Backup)
  • Copy/Move cforms plugin folder to new site
  • Activate cforms (if already activated, toggle status!)
  • Check/Adjust abspath.php for correct path (in your cforms folder)
  • Check/Adjust js/cforms.js for correct path (var sajax_uri =…)

Clear your browser cache etc.

But now I am getting this error "It appears that WP has corrupted your cforms settings, the settings array can not be read properly." I tried resetting several times, then deactivating/activating my cforms plugin. I was getting a permissions error, so I gave the cforms folder and abspath.php full permissions. I fixed the link path in abspath.php. When I click on form settings it says "You do not have permission to access that page". Can you please help me recover my forms?

Try redeploying your cforms backup from step 1

I did redeploy my backup multiple times. I finally just reloaded my database with the forms transferred over from the demo website. So I have the forms on my site but they are referencing my old site. When I do a cforms Admin backup the all-form-settings.txt file shows links to the demo site, not the live site. [I have the same issue with another site where the restore worked.] I changed the abspath.php to the correct path, but my forms are using that path (at least for the css).

When Itry to access my cforms2012.css under "styling" I have this message: "Sorry. The file you are looking for doesn't exist." When I click on "Update Settings" I show this error "Write Error! Please verify write permissions on the style file." but I've given that file write permission.

So I'm pretty frustrated. My site has 30 forms so do I just have to keep my demo site?

When you restore your cforms backup (via cforms General Settings > restore all settings) it will of course also restore the old paths.

The only thing left to do is turn off/on the plugin and it should set the paths straight, which should take care of the above errors.

You still have to check abspath.php / cforms.js (those are not affected by the data restore).
