Hi, I've researched this issue for a few days now and just gave up on trying to solve it myself :-)
I have a cfrom with 3 fileds in it: name, email, message:
Name |Enter Your Full Name
Email |Enter Your Email
Message |Enter Your Message Here
I'm using my own css styling
I did mark all 3 fields with \\\"required\\\" but when I test it, only the email filed returns \\\"Please fill in all the required fields.\\\" while the other two fields does not and the form can be sent by filling in your email only.
Any suggestions what I should do to solve this?
…. or could you please direct me to where I can find the answer to my question?
My new website is now live and useable and I could like to fix this issue before my clients start to receive "empty" messages
Two days later and hours of searching online and the below post from 2009 solved my problem
Hope this will help others
hm. you're right, the value gets stripped since it's the default value and the empty fields gets accepted.
the default behaviour should be that the default value gets used, the auto-clear feature should only kick in when accessing the field.
a possible workaround could be to disable auto-clear and use regexp, e.g.:
Your Name|Your Name|^(?!(Your Name)).+
