Problem with Admin email address that contains + character

Hi,

My form is set to send to an email address with the \"+\" character (e.g. user+23@domain.com). But when it send, it only sends to 23@domain.com. I'm guessing it is being cut due to an email validation regex. Is there a way to escape the + character? Or where can I find the specific regex code so that I may include \"+\" ?
