No email sent by windows server

I have cforms2 working (in the sense that it checks if the obligatory fields are filled in) but when I click Send, I get
\"SMTP Error: Could not authenticate\" and the email is not sent. As this is on a Windows server, I have have set cforms up to use the same STMP settings as I have in WP-Mail-SMTP (which works) and I am using the same from and to address throughout steve{aaatt}rentals-lisbon.com. Any help would be most appreciated.
