Hello!
Two things in the beginning:
1) I am from Germany. So please excuse my bad english.
2) Many thanks to the creator of this wonderful plugin. Is one of the most awesome thing I've ever seen for Wordpress. THANK YOU!!!!
Now my problem:
I've tested the form: http://www.mrjoy.de/de/checkliste. It's all wonderful, I can fill in all the things I want. But when I received the form via Email I was surprised. Only The sender-information, IP and so on were shown in the email.
But nothing of the filled in content was in the Email. Could anyone help me?
I use Wordpress 2.2 and with cforms 4.8 it worked, but now I have this problem, that nothing is shown in the transmission-mail.
Thank you very much.
Dave

OfflineKein Problem David!
I see you have just updated to v5.00 – please make sure to check "Include pre formatted form data table in TXT part" in the Form Admin / Email Options for both TXT and HTML this should fix it.
I'm sure you're not the only one running into this issue, so I'll put it into the FAQs.

I updated to V5 and some emails snuck in before I tested the new version and all I got was:
A new submission (form: "Classified Ads") =============== Submitted
on: July 11, 2007 @ 5:51 am Via: / By (visitor IP)
I now see that I didn't have the "Include preformated data…" check on both txt & html… but in a panic to not lose more emails, I switched back to the older 4.5 version I had been using.
The main question is… how can I see what those emails say? Or is all the form info lost? It's kind of critical since these five emails w/o info are classified ads that were submitted for our magazine.
Isn't there some place in WP where this info is stored? I seem to recall stumbling across the contact form emails somewhere, can't find it now.
Thanks,
Jim

OfflineJim,
Have you turned on Database Input Tracking on the "Plugin Settings" page? If so, there should be a "Tracking" page as well, on which all data is accessible.
Keeping my fingers crossed that you did enable it.
Cheers,
Oliver
PS: The email should have set the REPLY-TO, so at least you can get in touch with your customers, explain…and kindly ask to re-submit.
6:57 pm
Ah yes! Sadly I missed it on this setup on the work website, although I did set it on my personal website. Actually I may have left it unchecked since we get a ton of submissions each month and figured we'd end up with a bloated DB file pretty quickly.
Yes, at least I can email them back.
Thanks againfor the quick reply!
Jim

OfflineCompletely empty?
Also what happens when you add the TXT and HTML message part and use a custom variable, e.g. {Your Name} – (provided you have field name, labeled "Your Name")
7:53 pm
Yes Completely empty, even if i put a custom variable in the txt & html message part.
I receive a mail with the subject a message from but thats it. Nothing else in the mail… I'm using WP 2.2.1 an cforms II Version 5.1
Maybe you wanna take a look at my page? i will send you the Url if that can help you…
Thx Chris

OfflineThe page looks fine. Are you using any Mail Plugin, to for instance support SMTP mail vs. the standard PHP mail() ?
Can you send me your form configuration (simply use the BACKUP button)? Just sent you a message…

OfflineIt seems that your free web hoster mangles HTML emails. Hence they don't show anything. The entire structure of the email is destroyed, all ——MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message elements are removed, I guess that's the downside of free web service.
You could get it to work with text emails only, but you'd have to go into the code and remove all of the ——MIME… statements and replace:
"Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=\\"—-MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message\\"";
with:
"Content-Type: text/plain; charset=\\"" . get_option('blog_charset') . "\\"" . $eol;
8:44 pm
No, no Mail-Plugin… I sent you the Backup. Where do i find this code?
Thx for your support…
EDIT: I changed the lines in the cforms.php but it still not works. I tried something else. I sent me a copy of the mail to my adress which i put in the contact form… There i found everything. Name, Text, IP etc….

OfflineLike I said above, I think it's your free web provider that "kills" the emails and to make it work with TXT only, you'd need to make quite a few code changes (see above).
I may include an auto fall back mechanism for non HTML emails to really strip them down to a bare minimum…5.2 – no date determined yet, but I'm happy to send you an update to test via email.
10:05 pm
Ok, then send me a beta of 5.2 if it's avaiable.
Have a nice evening and thanks again.
Chris
