Wow, what service–a response in only one day!
I donated $10 as a token of my appreciation.
General Note: I neither have your site's URL nor a crystal ball or other psychic powers, makes it a tad more difficult to trouble shoot.
I don’t doubt that, however…I need to maintain total anonymity for the sake of creative freedom and to escape any potential political persecution created in backlash from my astute social observations.
Seriously, this site hasn’t launched yet and I don’t want the wrong people to see it prematurely. “Paranoid much” is my middle name…
Here’s a compromise: we can just pretend we share an imaginary best friend named Kristall who has psychotic tendencies?
Above error looks like an erroneous FROM: or admin address. (And) You mean FROM: field? Start with your main address, one known by your provider.
Yes, I meant FROM. Concerning “one known by your provider” GoDaddy has a FormMail section in the “Hosting Control Center” that allows me to put an address in the section “Forms Mail Address” but that’s not what you’re talking about. You’re talking about the email address that shares my site’s domain name…right? I tried that email several times, didn’t work.
I guess I just wonder what “known” means when it comes to the FROM: address and getting cforms to work.
That'll work, if the admin email address is good.
Define a “good” email address. Please.
“Do you receive any emails from WP?”
No, I’ve never received emails from WordPress. I really don’t understand why I would though. Does this mean that I can send myself emails through my website? I just lost another brain cell.
It's your admin email address.
The admin email address that I specify in the General Settings of my WordPress platform is the address that the comments are sent to, yes? Then what purpose does the FROM: email address serve? General understanding of functionality helps me find solutions.
IIS oftentimes means problems. (And) no, the prefix refers to e.g.
http://yoursite.com/prefix/wp-…..b_ajax.php
Then, yes I have a prefix and IIS. My prefex scenario is, uh, well, stupid; that is, I created it out of the idea for security and to hide the fact that my site is using WP. If I were to move my wp-content folder back to the Root directory would that help?
PHP Mailer is all SMTP, an alternative if your host doesn't support PHP's mail(). Go-Mommy is known for having issues in that department (And) You should ask your provider: "Hey, do you guys support PHP mail() ?" (Plus) You can ask your provider: "Hey, do you guys support PHP mail() ? and what else do I need to consider to make it work, e.g. (FROM: address etc.)". (One More) Sure, because PHP Mailer is all SMTP, but they didn't say that. Perhaps you haven't asked.

Me: “I want to use a contact form on my WordPress site. Ideally, I what the form to send comments to a Gmail account. I just need to know if there is anything I need to set up on my Godaddy account to for phpMailer to work. I set up a SMTP plan but no luck.”
GoDaddy: “Php Mailer is installed by default within your hosting account. You must specify the following relay server to send out from: relay-hositng.secureserver.net when setting this up. I apologize for any inconvenience.
In regards to our previous response, you can use the mail() function in your PHP. You can also use other methods besides mail() in your code to send messages from your site.
Two form mailers are included in Windows shared hosting accounts: webformmailer.asp and gdform.php. To use a form mailer, create a Web form in HTML that links to one of our scripts and upload it to your hosting account.”
Me: “I guess want my real question is can the php form mailer, ‘PhpMailer’, in the cformsII plugin for WordPress work with a Godaddy shared (windows) hosting account? Or do I have to use the scripts provided by Godaddy, e.g. gdform.php?
GoDaddy: “You would not want to use the scripts provided as WordPress tends to over-take the scripting.”
Me: “I know my questions are redundant but in the ultimate search for the correct language I ask: Do you guys support PHP mail()? And what else do I need to consider to make my plug-in form work, e.g. FROM: address etc.?
If GoDaddy does not support Php Mail function how can I get PHP Mailer or another SMTP to work. In my search I’ve discovered that GoDaddy is infamous for having issues in this department.”
GoDaddy: “ …” waiting for response.
Yuck.
I know. Why doesn’t my GoDaddy love me?
Nota Bene: Oliver, you can wait until I fill you in with GoDaddy’s response to my last question before replying.
Danke vielmals!,
