When sending emails in text mode, the message does not contain CR/LF following a blank (non required) field. So text file lines are sometimes more than just one field lable and field value. Any suggestions?

I can't replicate what you're experiencing, but based on what I've seen (what you sent me), this could either be a email client thing or a mail server issue, modifying the EOL that's included my cforms to mark the end of a line.

  • do you have "LF only" enabled under global-settings>mail server settings?
  • can you try a different email client?

2. Appearance is the same viewing on GMail through web. Apparent behavior is that an optional field that is empty or blank, is not ended with a CRLF when sent in text form. A field containing characters is terminated with CRLF as sent

Just noticed on the CC: that your mail server seems to suffer from the CR/LF issue some have. Try enabling the above feature(s) I mentioned "…LF only".

Perhaps that'll fix the other issue, too…

I tried with "LF only" checked on. Resulting text is the same… no difference.

I'm at a loss. Enabling HTML, does that make a difference? Does the email look correct then?

Do you have another site you could test your form on?

With HTML enabled it looks OK. I do not have another site. Interested to know if others have seen and resolved this.
