Hi Oliver! Got a teensy problem and I'm hoping you can help. We recently popped for our OWN server and the managed services group on campus requires a secure certificate, so our url changed to https:// etc etc – I've changed the WordPress site url settings, but when I exported/imported the all-cforms-settings.txt file, it still has the old http:// etc etc urls. I've tried editing the file (in BBEdit) but on subsequent imports, cforms indicates 'settings are corrupt'. I'm not savvy about editing the database directly or I would just run an SQL query and change the internal setting. Is it POSSIBLE to edit the all settings export file? Any insight on how it might be getting corrupted? I've got 16 forms (we LOVE cforms!) and it would be pretty serious grief to rebuild em all. The measure of how useful this tool is to us is the amount of PAIN caused by it not being available! YIPE! :-D Awaiting your sage advice sir.

have you tried disabling / enabling cforms. also you might want to search the WP.org forums for a more complete workaround for mixed HTTP/HTTPS environments.

I don't recommend that, serialized data arrays are prone to corruption.

copying / moving form settings only works best when using the cforms backup/restore features (global settings & indiv. form settings) and making sure that the backup file doesn't get mangled in any way…

Thank you Oliver! I appreciate your time! Yup, tried activate/deactivate/etc. several times. Replaced cforms. Problem is, source host site is now GONE – we've moved to our new dedicated server (and oh LORD is it ever faster than BlueHost ever was!!!!!). Oh well, I'll just have recreate the forms, doubt there will be many deaths… GOT to get this working. Have I mentioned I hate SSL? I understand the NEED, but it's much like wearing an iron collar. Oh well, post 9-11 world and all that. LOL. Keep up the fantastic work, cforms is the best forms-creation utility I've EVER seen, bar none. Your diligent support of this forum is truly impressive. I've seen full-on dedicated app support in corporations that didn't measure up to yours. If I can ever be of help, please let me know. I'm encouraging all my client-users to cough up some $! Cheers my friend.

I was bummed to see no real help on this. We too tried moving our Wordpress install from one server to another host and can't get cforms to function as the old paths are imbedded in the cforms setting string in the database. Both updating the settings text file in ASCII and running a search/replace within mysql result in the "settings file is corrupt".

what paths? all vital paths are being updated by toggling the plugin activation.

direct editing is a bad idea and likely results in what you got. corrupted settings.

sorry to say, deactivating and reactivating does nothing to the cforms entry in wp_options, which includes the old URL and old absolute paths to attachments etc.

well, those would be *your* upload paths, cforms of course will not change or update those.
