I'm sorry if this is clearly explained somewhere, I've been stumped by trying to find the correct terminology to describe the question. 

Basically, depending on which link is clicked I would like different options to be selected in a select box in a form when it loads, ie. when a user clicks on a link labelled 'red', they are taken to the form on another page and 'red' is the option that is selected from the select box. 

Can any kind soul point me in the right direction for this please?  Many thanks and I apologise if I need slapping on the hand and pointing towards a very obivous bit of documentation, but so far I've not been able to find anything.  Embarassed

You simply need to modify the link (URL), e.g. to this format: http://URL-to-form?selectfield=value

selectfield = the name/id of your form field you like to preset

value = the value or option to preselect
