Please replace the ??? with your data!
[desc]:
Woke up this morning, saw that Wordpress had a new release out (2.6). I upgraded that. Everything is working fine with Wordpress itself.
I then realized that I still need a "contact us" form. (I'm in the middle of converting this site's static web pages to be entirely Wordpress-created/managed).
So, I did some searching and foud that your plug-in seemed quite popular. So, I downloaded it, FTP'd it into the plugins directory, went and activated the plug-in.
Now, when I click on the "cformsII" tab... and then click on three-out-of-four of the subtabs (everything EXCEPT for the "help" subtab).... the page that comes up says:
All cforms data has been erased!
Please go to your Plugins tab and either disable the plugin, or toggle its status (disable/enable) to revive cforms!
Well, needless to say, I did try toggling it, with no change. I also re-FTP'd all of the files over again. No change.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hmmm.... I'm just now looking into some of the PHP code for the first time.
Haven't looked into Wordpress' code either.
I'm guessing that the "add_option" function must add a row to the "wp_options" table in the Wordpress database?
If so, then I've got absolutely zero rows in that table that start with the phrase "cforms".
So that must be the problem? Possibly something new about the WP 2.6 plug-in installation process?
Thanks!

OK, got it resolved.
I had used the "automatic upgrade" plugin for the first time.
And, apparently, it hadn't done some sort of "clean up work" that it needed to do at the end of its run.
I tried running it again, it prompted me about the clean up work, I told it to proceed, and it then said my Wordpress version was up-to-date.
I then deactivated and reactivated csforms and now the subtabs are showing up properly.
Hopefully, my experience will help somebody else with the same problem in the near-future.
Thanks!

Thanks, but what is the issue? If it's the tinymce editor button, make sure to completely purge the cache of your browser, restart it and load the page with SHIFT+RELOAD

By the sounds of it, it seems that the 2.6 upgrade removed or somehow disabled all cforms settings stored in wp_options.
Here is what I would do:
- First make a backup of the current database tables (better safe than sorry)
- Check if this is a caching issue (server/browser)
- Use PHPmyAdmin to see:
- if truly all cforms settings (starting with cforms...) have been tossed, especially: cforms_formcount
- if not: then deactivate plugin, completely remove and reinstall from the zip (no autoupdate)
- if yes: try reactivating the plugin, if this doesn't help do the above
(...I wonder what WP.org again last minute changed to cause these issues, hopefully nothing)

I have a same problem, I've had my WP on localhost, than copied its files to FTP and restored
MySQL as always, then copied cforms files, activated and nothing. Just this message:
All cforms data has been erased!. Nothing helps and there are no new tables in the database :(.
Does anyone know what should I do? thanks a lot, Machi

It may have to do with how you "restored" MySQL. If cforms doesn't find its settings, yet is turned on, then this is the message you'll get.
Turning the plugin off and turning it back on again, should at least set all basic cforms settings and you can start afresh. Or pick all cforms settings from your local DB and update your site DB with your old settings manually.

I just installed WordPress 2.6 and cforms 8.5.2.
I have the "All cforms data has been erased!" message on every tab except "Help".
All other plugins work perfectly, cforms is activated. There is no cforms tables created in my base...

I'm having the same problem. Just installed v8.6 on my fresh WP 2.6.
Have never used cforms before so not sure what the problem is... Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried deactivating and reactivating. Still no luck.
Help!

I know it sounds funny, but try deactivating and reactivating for 4-5 times - it seems that with WP 2.6 updating options behaves funny..

I continue to have the same problem.
It's a new install of cforms II (never used them before, wanted something because ddformmail isn't actually working for me). Heck, I don't even get any "default" form available.
Looks like it doesn't know how to create it's own db tables. I've reuploaded the piece at least three different times - and activated/deactivated at least 10 times.
And, I'm running WP2.6 - and don't use the "auto upgrade" feature, because my host doesn't allow it.

I've heard this 4-5 times now and every time I log on for the user and activate the plugin it works right away. I'm happy to do it again :-)
Feel free to send me the login data via my contact form above.
