Hi, I am in the midst of setting up a new site for a friends wedding. I wanted a Guestbook, but the standard WP one adds message like comments, whereas I wanted each one like a post, so that each posting could have comments added to it. I didn't want posters to have to register, so my workaround. albeit perhaps a bit odd, was to use cforms to send an email to the 'submit via email' address.

It's all working well, and I am able to control the subject and body of teh post, but each one is getting.....

This is a multi-part message in MIME
format.
——MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message
Content-Type: text/plain;
charset=”UTF-8″

.....posted at the top of the entry.

I'm sure it wasn't when I first set this up, so what have I done wrong now?!

I have html disabled and for the subject I am using {Subject}, by {Your Name}, whilst the only value in the "Admin TEXT message part (header)" is {Message}

Any thoughts?!

Thanks, Jame

That's quite odd, and the first time I'm seeing this.

  1. Does it happen for different admin email addresses, too?
  2. Are you using the SMTP feature of cforms?
  3. Could you add me to the BCC of this form and run a test, so I can get an immidiate copy to look at?
  4. If you turn on the HTML message part option does this still happen?
  5. Can you send me a copy of your form config (using the cforms backup feature)?

My messages are also sending out as MIME. My IT administrator says that our mail filters deem these messages to be "unscannable." He has to approve them manually to be received, otherwise they get deleted. He thinks the Symantec mail filters are having a mime compliance issue.

Was their a resolution for this? It's greek to me. Thanks!

cforms relies on MIME for several reasons (HTML, attachments etc.). "MIME based" messaging are a standard today and well handled by most if not all virus protection software.

I personally run Symantec products (firewall + anitvirus) on my home system and it scans MIME emails just fine.
