Hang on Submit...

Hi! This is a strange one. I have cforms 5.52 running very well on my server, email submits work great, etc. BUT another install on the same server (different directory, different virtual web host) hangs on submit.

Both versions are cforms 5.52, same Apache server, PHP version, WP version (2.3.1). For WP, I am using diferent databases for each install. Originally, I had copied the current WP directory (and cforms plugin) into production site from a subfolder. So, from wp/wordpress/* to the http virtual root. I then had to chmod -R www my WP (and cforms stuff), which was done as root. Thinking the copy broke cforms, I deleted all cforms data from the plugin interface, deactivated the plugin, and rm -r the contactforms directories, then re-installed, re-activated, and used the built-in form to test, but to no avail.

The form is currently sitting at http://www.ihackcharities.org/join-us/.

My original form at http://johnny.ihackstuff.com/wp/wordpress/?page_id=31 (second form down, contact AOET USA) is still working great! I'm using the same email sources and destinations for both forms.

 Browsers: FF 2.0.9, Safari 3.0.4.

Thanks for a great product, and for your help!

This seems to be an issue that came up before, it mostly pertains to Windows Servers but can occasionally happen on Apache, too.

See here (bottom) and here.

PS: I'll add this now to the FAQ.

Brilliant. This fixed it. I did have to go with the less permanent "/index.php/URL", as the semi-permanent "index.php" + document.location.pathname did not work. This is definitely an Apache problem as well. I had found the post you referenced, but the Windows/IIS bit threw me off. A definite candidate for the FAQ.

Thanks for your speedy response, and for the great product. I've really enjoyed it and found it to be exactly what I neede! I also really like the "rest" of your site. Gorgeous layout, and an amazing feel.. The photos are amazing.

Glad to hear it worked! (and thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to pass it on to Nicky as well ;-)
