Hi:

First, I see support is available for v 5, but I'm afraid to lost data if we upgrade.  If we upgrade to v 5 and there is no data lost risks and the answer is already included with v 5, please inform so to upgrade immediately.  Please kindly answer this short post.

———-Our issue:———--

Using Cforms 3.4, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).

We use Google AdWords and their Analytics Tool to track our site.

In order to make the Goals Tool work and track conversions we need to tell Google Analytics which is the page the system calls/shows after a user do what we want they do. For instance, once a user completes a request and press submit we need Cforms to open the "conversion page" (ej. http://www.mysite.com/thankyou.html).

When the user
sees this page, they have reached the conversion goal (Checkout
Complete, Registration Confirmation, etc.).

Is their a way to call this page after the Cform is submitted?

Is there a way that instead of calling the PopUp Message, Cforms triggers another page?

Thanks,

Charles

Very valid concern. Quite a lot of things have happenend between v3.4 and v5.3 (just check the Version History).

I suggest 3 things before upgrading:

  1. Make a backup of your complete WP DB
  2. Make individual backups of each form (via the BACKUP feature)
  3. Note other settings under "Plugins Settings"

If you're using the DB Tracking feature, chances are you'll have to start afresh (make sure to backup file attachments, if you have any).

Then deactivate cforms, remove the old directory, replace with the new dir and re-enable, after that:

  1. Check each form and settings thoroughly
  2. Check "Plugin Settings" page
  3. Configure new options (e.g. HTML, etc.)

For instance, once a user completes a request and press submit we need Cforms to open the "conversion page" (ej. http://www.mysite.com/thankyou.html).

Yes, this would be the Redirection setting, which can be chosen per form.
