I recently noticed that after my CForms upgrade to version 13.1, I have lost all my forms, and now only have the default form generated by the plugin.  I have looked into my wp_options table, and the cforms form settings appear to be intact.  I have even tried reversing my entire wordpress installation to a previously backed up database, prior to the version 13.1 upgrade, and my forms will not show up.

 

I do not have form settings saved anywhere else to try and reinstate the forms that way.  So two questions:

 

  1. Why did my forms disappear in the first place
  2. How do I reinstate the forms, if I have wordpress database backups dating to before the cForms v13.1 upgrade.

They shouldn't have, a simple cforms upgrade, properly performed (incl. deactivating/re-activating the plugin) would never erase previous settings.

When you go back to a previous DB state with your old cforms version, does everything work, is all data there?

If so, make a cforms Backup under Global Settings, then upgrade cforms again.

If -for whatever funky reason- your old data is again erased, try to restore your cforms backup under global settings again.

  • What WP version are you on?
  • Multi-site setup?

same thing happened to me.
WP 3.3.1 in multi mode.

I had to restore, do a global settings backup under cforms, do the steps of deactivate, install new version,

activate and restore global settings.
