  • The URL: http://???
  • Browser (and version): ???
  • cforms version: ???
  • possibly other plugins that might interfere:
    • ???
  • Do you get an error message (e.g. use Firebug):
    • ???

[desc]:I'm working on a client site, and have installed your awesome plugin, but am not getting any result.  The URL is http://truenick.com/blog/contact/  – it's password protected – username is rclay, password is bandit26

I have TAF disabled.  I inserted <!--cforms-->  in the code editor as directed. The code does have some effect- the page ends and the footer does not display.  This is the only form I have set up.  i appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!

The TinyMCE button didn't work by the way- I got this error when trying to use it:

uncaught exception:
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMNSHTMLTextAreaElement.selectionStart]"
nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame ::
http://truenick.com/blog/wp-includes/js/quicktags.js :: edInsertContent
:: line 349" data: no]

I can't see the cforms tag on the above link you've provided.

Also, please note that version 6.1 is out which fixes the bug you ran into due to your WP root directory being /blog/

6.1 should fix your TinyMCE issue as well.

Yeah, I can't see the cforms code when I look at the code from the live page either, but when I go back to the code in the page, it's there.  I even tried just inserting that snippet directly into the page template and that didn't work- I assume it doesn't work the same when directly in the page code.  Is there another way I can call the form from the page template itself?  Some PHP?

I downloaded and installed version 6.1 and unfortunately the TinyMCE thing wasn't fixed.  The button doesn't look like what's in your documentation.  It's a little hand with a question mark in it, instead of the cfII button.

Here's the error message:

uncaught
exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMNSHTMLTextAreaElement.selectionStart]"
nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame ::
http://truenick.com/blog/wp-includes/js/quicktags.js :: edInsertContent
:: line 349" data: no]

I appreciate your help.

Can you double check if you really installed v6.1 (plugin page), also, deleting your browser cache might help.

When you enter the tags manually make sure to do that in the "code view", not in WYSIWYG mode.

Definitely have 6.1, and it's definitely in code view, not WYSIWYG. I tried clearing the cache – no luck. The only thing I can think is that there's something about this particular version of WP that's causing the problem. If there's no way to call the form directly from the page template using PHP, then I'll need to see if I can do an upgrade.  I tried it out on my test site which is on the latest version, and it works fine.  I know you've tested it in WP2+, so maybe there's some other unknown that's causing the problem.

For everyone still running WP 2.0.2:

There have been a few bugs that would prevent proper support for WP 2.0.2, they're identified and fixed and will go into v6.2

  • fixing TinyMCE button, visualization
  • fixing wp_get_current_user() issue
