Please replace the ??? with your data!
[desc]: Recently installed WP, in the process of setting up a site and then installed Cforms for the first time.
Created a simple form and set it up on a page.
When I fill out the form and hit the submit button it seems to work and I get the thank you message. However the email never shows up.
both the from and admin email addresses are set up to my email address.
Can't see why its not working.
I use godaddy for the site, using shared hosting.

Godaddy always has issue. Usually on the email end.
See if you can get your WP to send *any* email, if not you may have to install a WP SMTP plugin first…search this forum for godaddy, it came up before..
JUST NOTICED:
- "cforms.9.3" does not work as a plugin folder! Please rename to "cforms" and deactivate and then reactivate.
- Then check js/cforms.js, it should have this path set:
var sajax_uri = 'http://ny-psychotherapist.com/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_ajax.php';
- And finally check abspath.php in your cforms folder it should also point to the right directory.

Everything seems to work except for the actual sending of the email.
I just checked the other email send features of WP and you are right they also do not seem to work.
I will try to install an SMTP plugin.
Do you recommend any specific one?
BTW, when I changed the plugin directory name to cforms from cforms.9.3 and made the change to the var sajax_uri variable the form still displays but when I clicked the submit button the message " please wait a moment" appears and then its hung there. When the directory is set to cforms.9.3 and the variable is also set to that name the form seems to go thru the complete process and displays "Thank you for your comment" just never receive the email that was sent.

wp version 2.6.3
cforms II v 9.3
browsers used: ff3 (mac), ie7 (pc)
I have successfully implemented cformsII several times to date (using the same web hosting co. as this), but this time i'm running into an issue.
I setup the form prior to redelegation of the domain and, as expected, had to re-install plugin to get the captcha imgs to reload properly.
Form appears to submit successfully ("Thank you for your comment!" + database tracking reveals submitted form contents)
Problem: Confirmation email is received, but admin email is not received.
I have tried:
- different email addresses in the FROM email address and Admin email address(es) settings
- deactivating the plugin, deleting cforms folder, uploading fresh version and reactivating.
- building a new form
- Reading your FAQ (check SPAM folder, try diff. email addresses etc)
all with the same problem :(
In your instructions you state:"The default FROM: address is based on your blog's name and the WP default address. It can be changed, but I highly recommend you do not, as it may render the plugin useless. If you do change the FROM: address, triple check if all admin emails are being sent/received!"
what does "render the plugin useless" mean? should steps 1-3 above have solved the issue if i did change the FROM address?
Any issue if FROM and Admin email addresses are the same?
Thanks for your support.

It shouldn't be an issue as long as your mail server is fine with it. The admin email is much less critical (unless it is black listed etc.). The FROM: email is the sensitive one, because many mail servers want to make sure only user from their own rows can send.
What is odd is that you do receive the "Confirmation email" which if I'm not mistaken also uses the same FROM: as the admin email.
Which in turn makes it look like an issue with admin email.
If you can't figure it out, check with your provider they should be able to tell what is happening…

I am having the same problem. Everything works fine when form is submitted. User gets the standard "Thank you for bla bla bla" message but I receive a blank email with only the title of the message. The rest of the body of the message, i.e. website, message does not appear in the email from admin.
I am a big fan of your plugin and have installed it on 3 of my blogs but this is the latest one installed. The rest I have used for sometime now, without any problem. I've read everything, uninstalled, installed, tested but nothing works.
Please advice. TQ.

I'll keep you posted on final testing when my client gets back to work after the xmas break—but I seemed to have resolved my issue.
I can't confirm that this IS the fix, but the only thing I did today when I revisited this issue was to use the "repair database" feature in the plug-in "WP-DBManager" v2.31.
Since then my form submits and both user and admin receive emails! :$
I thought there may have been a conflict between the twp plug-ins or some sort of wierd email setting as the periodical backup thatWP-DBManager sends was coming FROM an email that was a mash-up of my personal email address and my client's email address (both of which have been the wp admin email address).
Like I say, these observations might be red herrings, but I thought I'd note them in case they're useful for you/others.

I am also having the same exact problem of not receiving the form submission to my chosen admin email (whether it is the same as or different from the FROM address), even though the end-users confirmation email is recived fine. Also, I cannot get either CAPTCHA or the Verification Q&A to work. The fields simpy do not show up on the form.

If you're having the exact same problem, then please use the search in this forum, since I've answered:
- 'problem of not receiving the form submission' &
- 'cannot get either CAPTCHA or the Verification Q&A to work'
about a thousand times, literally.
