The file does not seem to upload to my setver. the folder it is going to has 777 rights, but it is outside the WP installation. The answer seems to be right there:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/noid-icon.png) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /mnt/local/home/account/www/MYDOMAIN.COM/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_nonajax.php on line 305

That "MYDOMAIN.COM" is something I put in as I dont want to advertise my domain, the path is correct in cforms it does point to the right place.

OK. It seems that cforms has some issues with linking/uploading to a folder outside of the domain it is installed on. The permissions/user are the same so I guess it should work.
Anyhow, It all works fine one I create a "tmp" folder and apply 777 toit inside the dir when it's installed.
Thanks for the help Oliver.

I am having the same problem, but can not get the solution to work.
The upload directory is set to:
/nfs/c03/h02/mnt/52177/domains/sXXXXX.gridserver.com/html/artwork
Have also tried:
/nfs/c03/h02/mnt/52177/domains/OURSITE.com/html/artwork
When I ftp to this directory I get "550 can't change directory to…" Is this relavent?
I have tried all kinds of combinations. I first tried to set it up with the default and that did not work either. The emails do include the attachment, but it doesn't get saved to the server and I get the error messages
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/15-form-style.txt) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Read-only file system in /nfs/c03/h02/mnt/52177/domains/OURSITE.com/html/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_nonajax.php on line 305

Did you talk to your provider about those access issues?

Hi!
In first place: thanks for the plugin!
I have a similar problem wit the upload function. The php error displayed is:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(http://www.xxxxx.net/xxxxx/wp-content/uploads/logo_clientes/noid-Presentación_condiciones.rtf) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections. in /usr/home/dedalos/public_html/123web/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_nonajax.php on line 576
Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/var/tmp/phprAFEm0' to 'http://www.xxxxx.net/xxxxx/wp-content/uploads/logo_clientes/noid-Presentación_condiciones.rtf' in /usr/home/dedalos/public_html/123web/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_nonajax.php on line 576
BUT the fact is that the file is uploaded correctly and attached to the email that is sent to me. How can correct this issue???
Than you very much,
From Madrid,
Roy

It seems that you misconfigured the upload path settings.
The first settings expects an absolute path (no URL / http!), and only if the destination folder does not live under your wp-content folder you also need to specify the URL to that folder (now with http://…)

Hi Oliver,
It seems like I have the same error as Kiron but then I found out that the error points to this file lib_aux.php on line 281. Below is the error:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(http://www.@@@@@@.com/www/recruitment/wp-content/uploads/2009/Resume/22-Resume_Test_Upload.doc) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections. in /home/ahdjhcl/public_html/recruitment/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_aux.php on line 281
Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/php29bQUu' to 'http://www.@@@@@@.com/www/recruitment/wp-content/uploads/2009/Resume/22-Resume_Test_Upload.doc' in /home/ahdjhcl/public_html/recruitment/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_aux.php on line 281
I'm new to this thing so I hope you can point out as to how I can fix this error.
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks

for all of you getting the move error when uploading make sure the uploads directory is permission 777
I did that and now it works for me
Except oliver now its renaming all files, i upload a jpg called genwhy-rss.jpg
it renamed it to noid-genhwy_rss.jog_n
Which makes it not even a jpg, i have to rename it before i can view it, I DID have the upload move error but i fixed that, this all happened when i upgraded yesterday.
Any help on why its renaming files would be nice, thanks.

The files have to be renamed, since the tmp file which it is when uploaded has a cryptic tmp-name to begin with.
"noid" results from not having the database tracking turned on, which is recommended when using file uploads.
the final file name = RECORD-ID-original file name

Solved. To fix this error: "failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections." just fill up Upload directory (absolute path) & Upload directory URL (relative path/URL) with the same upload URL & it works. Cheerz~!!!!

@Skoubah
you're right, there was a tiny left over \\n in the code that caused the wrong filename – will be fixed in an updated patch-1 (note the time stamp), very shortly.

Where is this path stored actaully?
I moved the blog from one host to the other and this path still shows the path and hte directory structure of the old server.
Is this parth read from the WordPress database in wp-options table the upload_path value?
SO mu question is – if I update it there – will that fix the problem of the error shoing up?

for a given form the path is stored as part of the form config in wp_options, so you need to double-check that it exists.
for new forms the proper path is determined at run time.
