I have a form that has too many options for a select list and I'm trying to narrow down the options available based on the selection of a broader category/categories.
In reality, I'm trying to do is similar to this w/ cforms:
I'm no Jquery/JS wiz so I need some help. Also willing to pay for the help if necessary.
From a flow it would work as follows using onChange, onBlur, onSelect, etc.
First, a user will enter a value which represents a number of inches and then select a value from a drop down that represents the remainder in 1/8's of an inch. On select the two numbers would be combined into a variable (width).
Second, based on the value of the combined variable (width), certain options would be made available in a select box we will call this the number of Door Panels. (i.e. if the width is >70 and <96 there can be 2 panels. If the width is =>96 and <108 there can be 3 panels. etc.)
Finally, based on the Number of Panels selected, a new select box will become available allowing the user to select which panel and which way the panels will open based on the number of panels. (i.e. if there are 2 panels the options might be: Right Opens Inward, Left Opens Inward, Right Opens Outward, Left Opens Outward – if 3 panels, there would be different options.)
So again, I want to do this using a combination of CForms/jQuery/JS. It must be compatible back to ie6 and obviously w/ NS/Chrome/Safari, IOS, etc.
Please let me know if you can help – and again, I'm totally willing to pay for the time.
All the best,
