Hi Oliver

Great great plugin! i wished i found it before.

Everything works fine and the help etc. is very clear! BUT!!

There is an option to make a custom conformation email but i can't find a way to put in to this message information they filled in. Like their name or what ever feeld they filled in. Something like;  Hello [name] etc.

Is that not possible or is it a very well hidden trick? Or did i read the help file with my eyes closed?

Kind Regards,

You're correct, currently the confirmation message is a static message, no variables accepted. You can add a unique form submission ID [for user reference], but none of the fields in the form are currently included.

It's a worthy Laughing feature request though and thinking about it, it seems doable. Perhaps in v4.6.

If you just want them to have a copy of their input you could alternatively offer a "CC: me" form field.

If you'd like to send them an email with all the form data (you visitors have filled in), simply add a CC: check box field to your form (via the main cforms admin page). If the user checks it, they will receive a copy of the form email that you also receive as the form admin.

The Help! section should also have an example for CC:'ing visitors.

Hi,

Yes i know about the cc, but i like to combine the custom message with the content that will be send with the cc check box.  So they get a custom message and under the message wil be the content of what they filled in. Must not be hard to change that in the code. but where?

Thanks for your time

It's all in cforms.php. If you'd like to "hard-code" it, ie. adding your static confirmation message ontop of the form data, you just have to change lines 603 & 1170 from:

$sent = @mail($field_email, stripslashes($subject2).$uniqueID, stripslashes($message), $headers2);

 to:

$sent = @mail($field_email, stripslashes($subject2).$uniqueID, stripslashes($message2 . $eol . $message), $headers2);
