Hi!

Upgrading from a previous version (v842(!)) I try to apply the adjusted css style sheet I've made - but I'm doing something wrong. The original sheet is applied instead (mono_space_light.css)

Basically I have performed a manual upgrade and uploaded the adjusted css file in a plugins/cforms-custom/styling folder.

I have also tried to remove the mono_space_light.css file included in the upgrade. Then the font changed but the layout messed up. And I've tried to place the adjusted file inplugins/cforms-custom

So, could you please give me a hint about where I trip? (Eventually include it in your FAQs? i've searched there and in the forums with no luck)

Thanks,

PS Here's a contact form

It sounds like you've done the right thing.

If you place you custom style sheet in plugins/cforms-custom/ then it should be visible in the drop down with all the other default themes.

Do you not see it in there?

Can you select and save the setting?

I have put the adjusted style sheet in a plugins/cforms-custom/styling folder - because I figured it would have to be placed on a similar path as in the original styling folder.

But, I've also tried to put it one level lower, in the plugins/cforms-custom folder.

The result is the same: I can see style/theme in the dropdown, and it works - but only with the original finish.

I suspect that the original style sheet file still in the original folder overrides the adjusted style sheets in the custom folder - right? If so, it means, that when placing adjusted files in the custom folder, one must delete the corresponding original files. (Eg. If I upload a css file like plugins/cforms-custom(/styling)/style.css - then I must delete the file plugins/cforms/styling/style.css ?)

Also: is it correct to place a custom file in eg plugins/cforms-custom/styling/style.css ?

Thanks,

Kjetil

Your custom CSS file is supposed to go directly into plugins/cforms-custom, together with all images (required) from the original cforms CSS dir.

The drop down should now have a top new category: "custom css styles" under which you'll see your custom one.

did you try to rename it?

This works for me:

  • Upload eg the adjusted style sheet file style.css to plugins/cforms-custom - not to plugins/cforms-custom/styles (even if the original style.css file resides in a /styles subdirectory)
  • Delete the corresponding original file - eg plugins/cforms/styles/style.css
  • Select the style.css in the top of the cformsII --> styling --> style selector dropdown (You can check if your picking the correct css file in the path that appears just below the selector.)

Any better way?
This way, the only extra work in future upgrades will be to delete the original file. Now creative work will be lost.

PS "style.css" is just a short example. A real existing name could be "mono_space_light.css"

Seems like deleting the original file is not necessary.

The (eg.) adjusted css file will appear as an option in the very top of the control panel -> styling -> dropdown menu - just easy to miss.

This way, if one makes a custom file and upload it to the custom directory - in the dropdown menu there will be two options with the same name: The adjusted version in the top of the menu and the original further down in the list.

At least it appears this way here.
