Hi,

I found the same topic in this forum but no solution at the end.

My wordpress themes has comments.php and comments-popup.php.

I only modified the comments.php. And it is working fine when I login as a admin or user. But if not a registered user, the comments form won't shown. It just shows "You must be logged in to post a comment".

This is the comments.php code (after modified):

Hi,

I found it. At the General Settings –> Membership.

It works. But when I submit, it didn't shows the user name and email address at the waitting moderation panel for me to approved the comments. It only shows  "Anonymous" and "ip address".

At the form settings, I disabled and enable the Ajax, I used "Author's Comment" type or "Multiple line text" for the message box, but didn't work. And for the rest, I used default settting.

I already look at the WP General Settings and Discusstion Settings.

what the url to the form?

For logged in users it should show proper data in WP admin panel. How does the form look when you're logged in? Is the email field and name missing (they should!) ?

not sure what you mean by ol and li dependencies?

have you checked out the tutorials on this topic (they're linked on the/your cforms Help page)?

does the wp comment form work, do you see comments comming in?

here is what needs to be done for ajax:

1. in your PHP template: make sure that the comment container is always being rendered (can be an empty container!)
2. make sure to provide (1) above with an container ID and match it in the global settings: comment parent container
3. adjust global settings: "New comment HTML template" to match your templates look  & feel

on your site, (1) already seems not in place.

no sweat, it'd not that complex.

1+2) the class can remain in there, the ID is important to being able to address the container

3) <li class="alt" id="comment-{id}">   is part of the new template def (global settings) which should match your actual one

sorry for being dense, are the comments not showing up at all, or are they not showing up when submitting the comment form using Ajax?

the latter is a smaller issue:

<li class="alt" id="comment-{id}">

has to be left 'as-is' in the cforms template. {id} will be (by cforms) replaced with the comment ID that is being passed by by WP at the time cforms stores the comment.

And like I mentioned earlier, if I look at you above link, I still can't see that empty container being rendered (you also seem to have comments.php commented out), without it it can't work at all.

If you disabled ajax, then all ajax related settings under global>settings are irrelevant. if you have comments (that you can see in the admin panel) then your PHP template file ought to render those, using cforms or not.

also, looking  at your source code, I *still* (!) see this:

that won't work.

per the my instructions on the Help! page, you need to..:

(2) Edit your WP Theme template for comments. Remove the current form tag entirely (<form action="…</form>). Instead replace with a PHP call to cforms: <?php insert_cform(X); ?> with X being omitted if the form is your default form or starting at '2' (with single quotes!) for any subsequent form #.
