[desc]: Hi. I've had cf forms for a while, but I don't get many comments, so I didn't know there was a problem until I tried commenting myself.

So, when I did so, the comment text did not display on the page, however my name, the date and the time did display. How can I fix this? (I'm pretty novice). The form looks great btw, thanks for the plugin!!!

Instead of a 'normal' multi line text box you need to use a specific "comment form" text box: Author's Comment. Pick this one from your field types drop down box.

Hmmm. I just tried that, but my comment still doesn't display. Does this mean that when I submitted it, it wasn't saved?

Also, the comment field is now way too long : ?

That's due to your WP theme, style.css (line 182):

textarea#comment {
border:1px solid #6CB800;
width:550px;
}

Hmmm. I just tried that, but my comment still doesn't display..

What do you mean by 'still doesn't display..'

I just ran a test and after page reload the test comment showed.

If you want the ajax part to work, you need to configure it properly:

see the tutorials in this forum.

Must be that before I made the switch you recommended to 'author's comment' from 'message' that comments weren't recorded/displayed properly. No prob though, because very few comments were added in that period.

I'm a real beginner at all this, so thanks for the help (don't even know what AJAX is/does). I've changed the setting anyway, so I'm sure it'll work. :)

The Ajax feature can insert the comment without having to reload the entire page, it's much quicker and more user friendly.

However, this only works if configured properly (see Help! page & tutorials)
