I upgraded my Wordpress installations to 3.4 after the release today (tonight). After the update I am unable to save any settings since the save-and-apply button no longer appears.
I have tried inactivating and activating the plugin with no luck.
To verify I installed CFormsII 14.2 on a Wordpress 3.4 installation that never had CFormsII installed before and attempted to activate it. An error message appears (see below).
Tillägget genererade 258 tecken av oväntad utdata (unexpected output) under aktiveringen. Om du noterar ett felmeddelande av typen ”headers already sent” , problem med flöden eller andra fel, försök att inaktivera eller radera detta tillägg.
A free translation from Swedish (above) to english:
The plugin generated 258 characters with unexpected output during activation. If you notice error messages such as "headers already sent", problems with flows or other errors try to deactivate or remove this plugin.
On to the CFormsII admin area I went. A new message appeared that it failed to create abspath.php (could be unrelated, but folder permissions are "drwxr-xr-x").
I created the file and uploaded it with the proposed PHP-code. The error message disappeared but the same problems as with the other Wordpress installation persists. I am unable to save any other changes than changing the style.css to use.

I just upgraded to WP3.4 and I'm also not seeing the admin menu. Tried the steps outlined in the FAQ (verified install directory, flushed cache, etc) – no go. Also tried deleting and re-installing CForms. Can't save my changes without the admin menu. Is there a workaround?

I didn't have any error messages when installing cforms 14.2 on two wordpress 3.4 so far. So THAT seems to be another problem.
BUT I have also been missing the Admin actions in the admin bar. Seems to be something to do with the new version of wordpress. Let's wait and see. I'm sure Oliver will come to the rescue soon ;-)

OfflineA good time to yell at WP.org for their idiotic upgrade behavior, changing how the admin bar is supported.
I'll look at this asap, but it may take some time.

I confirm with upgrading to 3.4 WP that the admin menu is now gone with 14.2 cforms, so you cannot save any changes to the forms
Also the formatting of the checkboxes seems to be off a little
Thanks,
Dan

While you are working on this, here's a workaround that I've found that works. In cforms-options.php, I copied lines 1159-1175 (the function "add_items" and it's action call above it) and pasted it into my functions.php file.
The down side to this is that the cforms Admin bar now shows on ALL pages (not just cforms page), but this works and allows you to save, add, delete and backup your forms.
Looking forward to a permanent solution for this. Not sure why, but it looks like Wordpress isn't activating the admin_bar_menu in cforms-options, but it does in funcitons.php.

Just upgraded to 14.2 and wanted to confirm this issue of missing admin menu for saving changes on primary blog of WP multisite install. Thank you very much for your time and effort to come up with a fix. I'm happy to help test any code changes.
PS: It's been a while since I've visited these forums for support and I can't seem to find the log-in button, hence the guest post. Am I missing something?

OfflineThis seems to be a really nasty one.
Yes, the admin bar code works both in functions.php and cforms.php (the main plugin file), but apparently not in the subseuqent plugin files (sub admin pages), which it used to.
This is ridiculous WP.org!

Hello Oliver,
Has a fix been released for the Cforms II as I am facing the same issue of not being able to save any changes to my Cforms II.
Please do let me know when we would expect a fix to this?
Thanks
Ziad

So we need to manually install the new version of cforms? Wordpress is not detecting a new version of cforms where I can automatically update from admin area…

OfflineGuys, the new version is out.
It's located at the exact same spot where you downloaded it to begin with.

Can anyone confirm that the new release has fixed the issue for them?

I took the plunge. The latest update did, indeed, fix the problem for me. Thanks for your help!

Hi,
i would also like to make the latest update since i have updated to WP3.4. But now the tab to make a backup of my forms is not available. What will happen when i make a new installation of cforms? Will my forms be available again?
