I am trying to get the cforms captcha to run, which I always did in my last projects.
I switched to a new XAMPP version and I am not sure if this is the reason / part of the reason why I can't see the captcha image.
The paths seem to be all fine abspath.php, cforms.js ect.
Also the GD lib with all needed features is activated … but maybe it does not work properly. Any idea how to test that? I can't crop thumbnails in Wordpress – they do not show up in the edit feature for images (this just comes to my mind) – maybe this issue is related?
When I look at the sourcecode of my form, I can find an empty variable for the image.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
I had the exact same problem.
Until I checked my wp-content folder file permissions. It was set to 777.
Changed it to 755, and captcha image was no longer broken.
The clue to this was the cpanel error log, not the cforms error log.
Hope this helps
