[desc]: Getting the following error message on plugin activation:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare start_cforms_session() (previously declared in /home/quintin/public_html/news/wp-content/plugins/cforms/cforms.php:50) in /home/quintin/public_html/news/wp-content/plugins/cforms/cforms.php on line 53

CForms/Wordpress was also installed in another location in order to test a new site design, meaning there were two versions on the server at once. On the live site, I get the above error message. I've tried purging the database of any table with the prefix cforms_  , with no success.

Any help would be appreciated!

You should never run the same plugin more than once. Simply remove the additional instance and you should be good to go.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply – I done as asked but the same error keeps occurring when I try and activate the plugin. Any idea what I need to purge/remove from the server in order to get rid of all information relating to the other version?

If your plugin folder really only contains one copy of cforms it should be ok, make sure there is no backup or other version stored anywhere there. If it still doesn't work, you can create a new top level folder for your WP install and start moving subfolders, making sure that when you get to your plugins/ dir that really only the necessary stuff is being copied.

Other than that….I'd raise a ticket with your provider.
