Admin Menu Missing

Hi, I have just attempted to upgrade to v5.5.

I deactivated v5.4 plugin, uploaded v5.5 plugin, and then reactivated v5.5 plugin.

However I can't see any Admin Menu Options to add a new form? Any ideas as to what I've stuffed up?

I've also tried to complete the "old" contact form, it says that the form has been completed successfully, but I haven't received the email as yet!!!

I am on a windows server.

I have the same problem with 5.5. Now I don't see "cforms" tab under "Options" or anywhere, so I can't modify my contact form.

Please help!!!

Jeffrey

P.S. I used to use 5.4 with WP 2.3 and it worked very well.

Here is the solution:

For some reason – which I still have to figure out – on some WP deployments cforms is not able to resolve the URL to test it against the string 'wp-admin', here is what needs to be commented out in cforms.php (near the bottom):

    ### dashboard
    $admin = dirname($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']);
    $admin = substr($admin, strrpos($admin, '/')+1);
//    if ( $admin == 'wp-admin' &&
basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']) == 'index.php' &&
get_option('cforms_showdashboard')=='1') {
        require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/lib_dashboard.php');
        add_action('admin_footer', 'cforms_dashboard');
//    }

    // Set 'manage_database' Capabilities To Administrator
//    if ( $admin == 'wp-admin' ) {
        require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/lib_functions.php');
        add_action('activate_'.$plugindir.'/cforms.php', 'cforms_init');
        add_action('admin_head', 'cforms_options_page_style');
        add_action('admin_menu', 'cforms_menu');
        add_action('init', 'download_cforms');
//    }

Well, another problem showed up after I did the change as you suggested: I have cforms II tab showed up, but my contact form is not showing up! Did I miss something?

 Thanks,

 Jeffrey

It should work right away, in fact the form should have been displayed even before the fix.

Have you made any changes to the config of form, or enabled any new feature?

It happened when I enabled Tell-A-Friend feature. If I disable the feature, then my form comes back, but if I enable the feature, my form goes away.

Thanks,

Jeffrey

That's what I had thought. Please refer to the Help! section of cforms for how to use the T-A-F feature, it takes a couple of steps more than just flipping the switch :-)

What trick did you use?

Hard to say what went wrong from here. Do you have other plugins? If so, disable them and turn them back on one by one to see which one cforms may interfere.

Unfortunately, this "Missing cform link" problem still exists in the lastest version.

Same problem here; clean 2.3.1 install, cforms 5.5.2 plugin (the only one active).

the cforms tab is not shown; If I use the workarround posted above:

    ### dashboard
    $admin = dirname($_SERVER[’SCRIPT_FILENAME’]);
    $admin = substr($admin, strrpos($admin, ‘/’)+1);
//    if ( $admin == ‘wp-admin’ &&
basename($_SERVER[’SCRIPT_FILENAME’]) == ‘index.php’ &&
get_option(’cforms_showdashboard’)==’1′) {
        require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/lib_dashboard.php’);
        add_action(’admin_footer’, ‘cforms_dashboard’);
//    }

    // Set ‘manage_database’ Capabilities To Administrator
//    if ( $admin == ‘wp-admin’ ) {
        require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/lib_functions.php’);
        add_action(’activate_’.$plugindir.’/cforms.php’, ‘cforms_init’);
        add_action(’admin_head’, ‘cforms_options_page_style’);
        add_action(’admin_menu’, ‘cforms_menu’);
        add_action(’init’, ‘download_cforms’);
//    }

I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\expresion-x.com\\httpdocs\\worldsmodel\\wp-content\\plugins\\contactforms\\cforms.php on line 2367

As you can see I have a windows hosting (not my choice).

Any suggestion? :(
