Ok – where to begin…
- I am testing in FF 2.0 and IE 7.0
- URL: http://helpfounderedhorseslive.com/animaltracemine…..s/contact/ (new project please don't mind the mess)
- cforms v 5.2 (as of yesterday)
- other plugins: smart comments 2.0 and imagemanager v2.4 – no idea if those interfere.
- She is running WP 2.2
I installed cforms via instructions to >>wp-content>>plugins directory>>contactforms
I activate the plugin in my plugin panel, created a new page called 'contact us' and inserted the call via <!–cforms–> in code view and saved the page.
I customized the form in the cformsII options windows, by following the help documentation, and called it contact.
I have gone back n fourth with the Ajax on/off and SMPT enabled/disabled. In FF, the information goes away after I hit the send button – never reaches my email and firebug says:
+:var res = '<br/>(Language string failed to load: email@example.com)'; res;
IE just sits there…frozen. Email never comes in – information is never sent etc. The email address is accurate and active. I have gone through her entire WP setup to make sure the same e-mail/username/password is used throughout.
I have even tried the installation of phpmailer, in the even that it was related to my server and php but that didn't pan out. I kept getting a language file error and decided to trash it.
Last night I did a complete un-install / re-install and was able to get FF to work momentarily but I had to hit the send button twicejust to get the information to the inbox and the page actually took me to a white screen.
After 8 hours… I'd have to say I'm just about ready to say it didn't work and find something else. The problems I'm having are not showing up on the forum anywhere from anyone else so… it must be me.
Any suggestions/questions/ideas are truly appreciated.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to trouble shoot and posting the level of detail that you did! I'm sure we'll get it sorted out.
I'm not sure where the message "Language string failed to load: firstname.lastname@example.org" stems from but I'll find out. I also sent you an email.
I'am also tested and have the same error after last update (July 15): Language string failed to load…
The error comes, when i activate the smtp-server-option. first the sending trackingcopie is ok and then comes this error.

Here is what helped Jenna:
We didn't look further into the Language string failed to load… issue, since the SMTP server option was not needed, the native PHP mail() function worked beautifully.
The issue with the CC email not containing a subject & broken email content, we fixed by 'auto confirmation' settings:
- Added a subject line for emails sent as CC
- Added both TXT and HTML placeholders.
though auto confirmation is not enabled – the user only has the ability to choose to be CC'ed – the above settings needed to be made anyway.
Not very intuitive, I admit, but with v5.3 handling of CC & autoconf emails will be addressed.
Bernd, can you try and disable the SMTP server to see if the default method works?
You are fantastic Oliver! So grateful for your help!!
