Hi Oliver! I've used an older version of the plugin in testing and it went so well that I thought I'd get the upgraded version (3.4) of Cforms.
Now, whenever I attempt to activate the plugin, I get a 500 Internal Server error. Any idea why it might be happening?
I can't access my server logs (it's on a hosted server) or I'd provide more info. Note that if I deactivate all my other plugins I don't get the error and it loads fine. Sadly, I also need those other plugins!
This sounds strange. I've never seen any 500 err msgs on my WP installs. Are there any other clues, err messages that might help narrow down the problem? Ie. it could be a permissions issue, functions with the same name etc.
Have you tried turning on your other plugins one by one, to see when it breaks? When you turn on cforms, despite the 500 err, does it still work?
I've tried to turn them on 1 by 1 to see when it breaks. I can't really say it's one particular plugin, though at first I suspected it was fgallery+. But it also happened with wp-cache and sidebar widget also…so I'm stumped.
I could see the forms, but it kept telling me a table in the database didn't exist. Can't recall which one though off the top of my head.
Wouldn't be the first time I've had 500 errors with this host though. They completely hosed a previous WP installation.
I'll try again and see if I see anything unusual.
OH! I almost forgot. If I refresh, the 500 error still displays. If I go back to the previous page, sometimes I see the 500 error and other times I see the plugins page, but none of the plugins show. Don't know if that's helpful.
Wish I could be of more help. I'm a user, not a coder.
Can you send me the URL to the page with the form that's showing the error, or send me a screenshot? I wonder what table the server is complaining about.
I've heard of other WP users talking about occasional, generic (unrelated to the use of plugins) 500 errors, but haven't seen any panacea for it.
Hi there, i have tried to upgrade to v3.4 and after activating the plugin and clicking the cForms option in the dashboard I got a 404 (onject not found) error. After investigation it appears that the link to the cForms options page has gone from -
Hi – I am having the same problem. Every time I activate the plug in it causes a sitewide 500 internal error. It will even knock the admin off site. Luckily, I was able to cursor back and deactivate it – which solved it – but then I am unable to use the widget.
