The Beat 94.5 in Vancouver, B.C. using cforms on

I thought I would share a little information about the use of the cforms plugin on The Beat 94.5 website.

I was tasked with putting this website together as a short term project after a long road of promises that never panned out for the site.  Knowing my skills in creating WordPress projects like this, the turn around time to develop a project like this was very quick.  Additionally, the short term project has lasted about a year and a half now with no other solution in site.

cforms is populated throughout the site in a few different ways.  Of course, it is used as a simple contact form for on air requests that are opened directly by our hosts in the control rooms.  It's also how listeners contact other personalities and send in advertising inquiries to our sales staff.

The biggest use is for contesting.  While it's not the best or easiest solution for our promotions department, any post that has a need for an entry form for listeners and visitors, a unique form is created based on a replicated template that I've setup.  They then change the subject that the email generates, and all contest emails go to one specific email account that is filtered based on that subject.  At that point, they use random number generators to pick the winner if they need to pick one "out of the hat".  Otherwise, they can review the emails if there is a specific multiple lines of text field that needs to be reviewed (i.e. "Tell us why you want to win a trip to Mexico with four friends", etc.).

Side note: If anyone knows of a better solution for contesting, I'm curious to hear them.

Once you know how cforms behaves, it's certainly powerful in many aspects!
