[desc]:We're trying to place a form in the sidebar and would like to remove the (required) and (valid email required) text from the form, as it wraps underneath the text field and doesn't look so good.
Where is this text inserted and how can we remove it? And just to make things even more interesting, is there a way we can remove it from the sidebar form, but allow it to remain in other forms that will be in pages and posts, with lots more real estate?
To indicate the required nature of the field, we plan to use labels like Name * and Email * . We'd also like to change the background color of the form field to help show it's required- any way to do this? This could be for all forms, not just the sidebar form.
I set the css property for the required text as display:none, and this worked in firefox. But in IE(6) the required text is still displayed. I wonder if this is related to the problem of one sidebar being displayed above the rest of the main content.
Strangely, the "required" still shows up in IE, but it doesn't distort the layout so I'm satisfied.
Can you tell me what's unsuitable about the layout/theme I've used? (so I'll know for next time)
I put back the link love (how shameful of me to hide it) … I guess I was concerned that our viewers might spend all their time reading about food the way I do and forget to fill out our form ;-)
