I have tried changing the width of the box, and when I do it shows up fine in IE, but when loaded in Firefox (which I prefer), the width of the input box does not change nor does the style of the submit button.

There are browser related limitations around styling the upload input field, while IE permits certain CSS, Firefox doesn't and vice versa.
The style of the Submit button can be fully adjusted via CSS, if you're using a background image, of course you need to change the image size as well!
