Hey,

I have found free javascript code online that enables a dynamic character counter for a text input box. I would love to add that to my cforms input box.

However, I'm not sure where to add the code. At the website where I found the code, http://javascript.internet.com…..unter.html , it says I should add certain pieces of code to the following places:

External js. file – no problem here, I would simply create one in cforms' "Js" folder

the external .css file – which one would that be?

the html head – in which file?

the html body – in which file?

Or does this depend on the theme I am running for WP? I am using Thesis.

Could anyone help me out here? If we could figure out how to do this, we would have an easy way to add a character counter to the cforms input box. I think a lot of people could benefit from that.

I just came across this topic because I also would like to add a char-counter to a field and the code on the website mentined by Lucas seems very good. Inserting die JS is not the problem.

The only thing is, that the input-fields needs an onKeyUp event handler and I have no idea how I can add a event handler like

onKeyUp="toCount('eBann','sBann','{CHAR} characters left',100);"

to a certain cforms input-field. Any idea how to do this?
