Is there a way to change the "required" to "**" in red and place before the field

Example

Yes.

  1. Either hide the "require label" via CSS, set display:none; or simply remove the "required" text from the cforms admin page.
  2. Instead,  change your input field label from "Name" to "<strong style="color:red">**</strong>Name"
