Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I have just started my blog and crave any and all information that I can get. I have bookmarked just about all of the links in this post and probably won't see daylight for weeks as I sit in the cold glow of my screen trying to absorb all of this knowledge!
It is very generous of you to share it.

This is a really good list for blogging do's and don'ts. I've been looking around on the net for different tips, but not many lists go into this much detail, so it's great for new (and not so new!) bloggers to get to see this.
I especially like the professional photography website that you link to, I've been hoping to find some great tips on taking better pictures of food. Thanks for posting this entry, it's a big help! :)

Nicky, I just found your blog through the Time Online article. This is a great post.As a blogger for just over a year I am just hitting a stride with content and consistency on my site. Using this post as a checklist and guide as I move into year two will be invaluable. Thanks again for taking the time to lay it all out.

This has been very helpful--thanks! I find that like most learning it's the accumulation of knowledge that spells progress. So I read about how to improve blogging; I took a 1-night "how to blog" course at a writers' organization; and I read blogs I admire--taken all together, these improve my understanding of blogging success. (One thing I learned from the blogging course I took is that it's helpful to define for oneself what success is: fame, making more friends, staying mentally limber?). I've probably made every mistake in the book! Thanks for the advice on the importance of keeping it all in perspective.
