Kitchen presents are the best presents ever! A mandoline is on my wishlist, too, but first I'd love to get a Kitchen Aid standmixer. But I don't know who would be willing to give it to me as a present! :)
Congratulations Nicky! I am one of those who believes a kitchen must have a decent mandoline.
Please be careful Nicky! Mandolines are wonderful tools, but only for those possessed of great self discipline, otherwise sooner or later you will, like me, start slicing your fingertips off! Never use one of these when you are in a great hurry, or unable to devote your whole attention to it.
To be brutally honest I think mandolines are the work of the devil! :)
James, I so hear you! I'm the first to cut myself because of lack of attention or being in a hurry... I think it's manifested somewhere in my genes as I still can recall my mum yelling in the kitchen "band aid, hurry up!!!"...
Is the first item what I think it is? I'd love to get one myself!!! Or better, get is as a present :o)
