Now that it’s back to a more regular schedule again, I find myself enjoying Harry’s great coffee even more so, especially my typical early morning routine involving a croissant, orange juice and a Cortado. Can you get good coffee in the US? I’m pretty sure you can, provided you know where to go; we did find some good coffee in Ouray at a local coffee roaster, but generally – or more specifically – when traveling, good coffee is rather hard to come by in the US. And I’m not talking about the gallon or half a gallon jumbo XXL sized cafe latte you get at one of the chains. Aaaaanyhow, after our return, the first Triestino I had at Cup o Coffee together with a freshly baked brownie got me back on track… ;)

And a good old friend I ran into as well – Josef. A really cute looking Berner-Sennen-Border-Collie mix, who at some point in his youth got casted for a movie – isn’t he adorable? Consider it my belated contribution to pet blogging weekend – for the sake of the event, I temporarily adopted Josef :)
O.
PS: Most charming I find his droopy right ear…

He really is adorable! We were thinking about adopting a border collie, but we've got a (super naughty) cat already and weren't sure if it'd work out for both of them...
Dogs and food, is there a better combination. Our dog has learned to wake form a dead sleep when he hears "clean-up" he knows I made a mess and he is in for a treat. A dog=a kitchen essential.
Oh goodness, you need to come to Seattle if you couldn't find good coffee in the US!
what a cute doggie! :) atlas... there aren't any good coffee shops around here either. we find it's easier to go buy a french press and make it yourself.
Hi there, ooooohhh you know that such cute doggie photos make my day ! However, looking at Josef especially in the photo below it does seeeeeem to me that he wanted a bite of your croissant. Did you behave well :-))) ? Have a good day, angelika
I was sure the dog was colie mixed, my dog is too but with a husky , therefore looks like a fox.
Cute dog anyway !
There is one restaurant in Salt Lake that has fantastic coffee, but it's a Mediterannean restaurant, so that might explain. Sadly, I think you are right that a lot of the coffee in the U.S. is pretty bad.
Hi Karin, I think what helped in this particular instance was that he was busy focusing on a fly that drove him nuts - I have some other snapshots that actually show him snapping at it...
Hi Keiko & Cindy, He really is and he's such a kind soul, too. Here is the latest news on Josef: I've been told that he just got really lucky with a beautiful female counterpart - so 4-5 little Josef's (and perhaps Josefines) may soon see the light of day.
Hi Gia, Exactly. Or, like another dog owner I know once said, he should charge people for patting and stroking time with his cuddly dog - as a she's basically replacing a shrink - well, there is definitely an undeniable smile on all the people that meet her, if that's not proof enough...
Shauna, Seattle is also on our list of places to visit - I have not yet been there, very curious to visit though.
J, it's almost a curse to have tasted good coffee, because then you don't ever want to go back - if in doubt, I always opt for tea now.
Hello Angelika, I'm sure he would have loved a bite of my chocolate croissant, but here he chasing a bug (2nd image).
Kalyn, you could be right about that ;) It's difficult to find good coffee shops when you travel and only have a limited time at hands, but I could imagine, that if one looks hard enough you might find good spots here and there...
hi, josef looks so cute! if we didn't have dachshunds, we would have border collies...they are so sweet-natured...
Wuff to all together,
thank you for the many compliments. well, these pictures are very very good. but to be honest, I am not surprised. I know, i am not decent as well.

oh boy, what a cutie!!! we have a border collie named Rowdy, but it is nearly impossible to take pictures of him, let alone capture nice facial expressions. you did a great good job, maybe i should send Rowdy over for some photo-shooting... :)
